I’m 15 years old. Can I still join 4-H? What are some of the things I can do?

Yes, teens can join 4-H. As a matter of fact, you must be at least 14 in order to participate in several state level activities. Teens learn leadership skills through a number of activities in their clubs. Teens in a club can serve as officers or mentors, and can also join County Council.

District and state-wide there are many opportunities: Senior Counselor at 4-H Camp, 4-H Congress, Legislature, District Council, and Executive Board. National trips include Citizenship Washington Focus, National Congress, and National Conference.

4-H Congress is a week long youth conference held at the University of Florida the last full week of July. Youth attending participate in workshops, competitions, and social activities.

Legislature is usually held the third full week of June. At this event participating youth serve as mock legislators, reporters or lobbyists, meeting in the committee rooms of the House of Representatives as well as the House Chambers, and touring the State Capitol, Supreme Court, Archives and/or other State Buildings.
