Who verifies that a product is environmentally friendly?

 

Many independent, non-profit third party organizations have taken on the responsibility of conducting comprehensive and rigorous research, evaluations and verifications to ensure that a company, product or service is in compliance with federal and industry certifications, standards and accreditation. These organizations can certify a single or multiple product(s) or service(s). Such as Green Seal that certifies products and services. FSC Forest Stewardship Council accredits companies that provide products that are made from materials harvested from forests in a environmentally responsible manner.
