Pinellas County had implemented sustainable practices for many years. In order to attain the Green Local Government designation, Pinellas County evaluated its current sustainable practices and implemented new sustainable practices as well. The County then completed and submitted the Florida Green Building Coalition’s Green Local Government application. As a result, Pinellas County became Florida’s first Green Local Government!
