To obtain the longest period of fruit production, choose trees whose fruit matures at different times of the year. Here are some examples:

• Early season – ‘Navel’, ‘Hamlin’ and ‘Parson Brown’ oranges (all October to January)
• Midseason– ‘Pineapple’ orange (December to February.), ‘Midsweet’ orange (January to March), ‘Minneola’ tangelo (December to February)
• Late season- ‘Valencia’ orange (March-June)

Most grapefruit varieties can be harvested over a long period beginning in November or December and continuing to May.
