We need to care about climate change because the decisions and changes we make today, with the production of greenhouse gasses, will not only have an effect 10 years from now but 100 years as well. If we cannot stop or reverse the impacts from climate change, we will need to adapt to the changes, which will be costly bo us financially and environmentally.

Environmental consequences are already occurring such as, sea-level rise that will gradually inundate coastal areas and increase beach erosion and flooding from coastal storms, ocean acidification, changes in rain patterns, increased droughts and floods, changes in wildlife and biodiversity, impacts to farming and food systems and impacts to public health with the increased spread of diseases.
