If you eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, along with moderate amounts of a variety of lo
w-fat dairy and protein foods you don't need supplements. Most Americans do not eat right, so a multi-vitamin mineral might be a good insurance policy. Special supplements, recommended by your physician or a registered dietitian may be needed by women who are pregnant or people with very specific and accurately diagnosed nutritional disorders.
