Will food eaten at night turn to fat?

It is the total calories that count, not the time of day you eat them. There is no “witching hour” that makes food more likely to adhere to your hips.

That said, avoid late night eating. People who skip meals will tend to devour a feast later and will probably overeat more calories than they would have eaten if they had spaced meals through the day and paid attention to calories, not the time of day.

This is an urban legend. The fact of the matter is, if you eat more calories than your body needs to burn in a day, the excess calories that you have eaten will be stored as fat. Whether you consume those calories during the morning news or your favorite late night show does not matter. There is no connection between the calories we eat and the clock.
