What is the difference between a 4-H public speaking speech and a demonstration?

The first and most noticeable difference is a speech is not allowed to use visual aides. Second, there is a length difference. Speeches are 3-7 minutes long for juniors and intermediates and 5-7 minutes long for seniors. Next, you must provide a typed copy of your speech to the 4-H office before you compete in the contest. Finally, for speeches the top two winners in each age division advance to the next level of competition.

Demonstrations are 3-12 minutes long for juniors and intermediates and 5-12 minutes long for seniors.
